LIU XINTAO

Creative Inspiration

Liu Xintao's paintings seem to depict the desolate, barren landscapes of an extraterrestrial planet. Crucially, he employs a vocabulary reminiscent of wormhole movement to reveal fragments of the human world that appear incongruous within these scenes. Originally referring to the interaction between two-dimensional virtual worlds and three-dimensional reality, the term “breaking dimensions” has come to signify the convergence of disparate fields and spheres. Against the backdrop of contemporary physics and modern society, Liu Xintao employs forms of rupture and dislocation to connect previously unrelated landscapes. He creates a layered, penetrating spatial experience, striving to shatter the dimensional barriers between known and unknown realms.
